Mr David Morgan, Silver-Investor.com
David Morgan has been involved in money, metals and mining for over 30 years.  His background in engineering with an advanced degree in Economics/Finance gives a unique perspective to the financial markets.  He applies the discipline of logic to verify the basics of economic law.  Mr. Morgan has been published in Barron's, The Wall Street Journal, Futures Magazine, The Herald Tribune, Gold Newsletter, Resource Consultants and countless other publications. 

Mr. Morgan publishes a subscription service for beginning, intermediate and advanced investors
. at Silver-Investor.com.  He also consults with high net worth clients and/or fund managers.  Mr Morgan was published in the "Global Investor" regarding ten rules of silver investing and he is the author of  "Get the Skinny on Silver Investing".   Mr Morgan's speaking engagements have taken him all over the world his forecasts on the economy, metals prices, and mining shares have been extremely accurate.

 

Mr Ben Davies, CEO - Hinde Capital
(Hinde Gold Fund)
 

Ben Davies ran trading for RBS Greenwich Capital in London where he managed a macro portfolio.

He started his career in 1995 trading in the Credit fixed income market at Credit Lyonnais, moving to IBJI as a fixed income specialist and finally RBS Greenwich Capital in 1999.

He graduated with a BSc from Loughborough University where he majored in accounting and economics.

Mr Davies and Mark Mahaffey, former colleagues from RBS Greenwich Capital, established
Hinde Capital in early 2007, primarily to focus on the precious metals and commodity sector.


 

Mr Ned Naylor-Leyland, Investment Director - Cheviot Asset Management
Ned Naylor-Leyland graduated from the University of Bristol in 1998.  He began his career in 2001 at Neilson Management, later moving to Smith & Williamson (formerly NCL Investments) in 2003 where he was a Private Client Investment Manager.

Ned joined Cheviot Asset Management in London, July 2008 and is now running a specialist precious metals and natural resources fund.   
While he has an eye on all areas of the market he has a special interest in precious metals (silver specifically) and believes that having a proportion of client funds in precious metals is a necessary 'parachute' in today's precarious geopolitical and economic environment.    

 

Mr Paul Tustain, Director - BullionVault
Paul Tustain is Founder and Director of BullionVault and is a trained computer scientist. 
Mr Tustain founded BullionVault.com in 2003, intending to make gold much more accessible to private investors.
  "In London, New York and Zurich, and on behalf of 20,000 customers from 90 countries, it now holds more gold than most central banks.  The company won the Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2009.  In 2010 the World Gold Council - the market development body responsible for 64% of annual world gold output - bought 11% of the business and now endorses it worldwide as their recommended route for retail bullion investment."
Paul is also the Editor of Galmarley, the popular free research site on gold.   He consults on risk management within the financial sector and is well known as a writer, publisher and TV panellist both on gold and the workings of the financial system. 


Mr Diederik Schmull
Diederik (Rick) Schmull held a 39 year career within major Financial Institutions such as Baker, Weeks & Co (Amsterdam), Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse (London).

He is currently an independent Investment Consultant and also columnist for www.inveztor.nl and has closely followed the Gold and Silver market for nearly 40 years.

Mr Schmull was born in Amsterdam and has resided in London for over 30 years.  He holds an MBA from University of Oregon (USA, 1969).

Mr Robert Archer President & CEO
Great Panther Silver Limited

Robert Archer has more than 27-years experience working for mining companies throughout North America, namely Newmont Exploration of Canada Ltd., Rio Algom Exploration Inc., Placer Dome Canada Ltd. and Noranda Exploration Inc.  He also served as President of Consolidated Magna Ventures Ltd.
Mr. Archer is the President of R. A. Archer & Associates and Platoro Resource Corp.  He also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer and is a director of Cangold Limited, a company publicly listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.  He is also a non-executive director of Altair Ventures Incorporated, a company also publicly listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.

 

Mr Abraham Drost, President
Sandspring Resources Ltd.


Abraham Drost is a registered Professional Geoscientist (Ontario) with over twenty years experience in the Canadian mining industry.

Mr Drost holds the Masters degree in Mineral Exploration (1987) from Queen's University and brings considerable success in discovery, finance and mineral project development as past-President of Sabina Silver Corporation.


 

Mr Fred Davidson, President & CEO
Impact Silver Corp

Fred Davidson was most recently the VP and Chief Financial Officer of TOTAL Energold Corp., an energy and gold producer which had over $250 million in assets producing over 10,000 b.o.e. per day, 15 million cubic ft of Natural Gas and 100,000 oz of Gold on an annual basis. Previously, he spent 10 years as Chief Financial Officer of Erikson Gold Mines Ltd. and Mt. Skukum which grew from grassroots exploration to production. Mr. Davidson also had an active role in a number of other notable mines and exploration projects including: the Courageous Lake Project, Golden Bear Mine and the Denton-Rawhide mine.
He has been a senior executive in the mining industry for the past 30 years during which time he has helped finance public and private mining companies. His experience spans over 18 countries throughout North America, South America, Africa and Asia. Mr. Davidson has sat on the board of Wheaton River Minerals, Plexis Resources and IMPACT Silver Corp.

Mr. Davidson received his MBA from the University of British Columbia in 1970 and his Chartered Accounting designation in 1971. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.  
He is also President and Chief Executive Officer of Energold Drilling Corp, a socially and environmentally sensitive contract drilling company for the international mining sector including clients such as Barrick Gold, BHP Billiton, Ferro-Anglo, and First Quantum Minerals.

 

Mr Nicholas Garling, Chairman/Managing Director
Morning Star Gold NL

Nick Garling has been touched with ‘gold fever’ since his childhood when his father was involved with ASX listed Broken Hill Holdings Ltd, owners of the famous A1 Gold Mine in Victoria, Australia in the late 1970’s to mid-80’s. The A1 Mine was at that time Australia's oldest continuously producing goldmine and produced 500,000ozs at nearly an ounce to the tonne over 100 years of operations. The A1 is just 7kms from the Morning Star Goldmine, which produced close to 900,000ozs.
Before joining Morning Star Gold, Nick worked for brokers and investment banks for around 22 years in areas concerning hedge funds, equity capital markets, asset disposal and structured derivatives.
After studying law and working in a Sydney legal practice for 4 years, he moved into the Sydney financial markets with NZ merchant bankers Fay Richwhite and also FIMAT-Societe Generale in financial futures & options. Nick then worked overseas for 10 years in Tokyo & Hong Kong, where he was a Managing Director of the Equity Markets Group for UBS Warburg and before that, Managing Director of (the now famously defunct) Lehman Brothers Asia-Pacific Equities business.

Nick joined the Morning Star board in late 2007 and after two years as the company’s MD/CEO, he was recently appointed Executive Chairman upon the retirement of two long standing directors. He is the largest shareholder in the company (~15% holding).
Nick works full-time for Morning Star Gold between their Sydney office and their operational hub in Woods Point, Eastern Victoria, in Australia's south east corner.


 

Mr Mike Devji, Executive Vice President
Orko Silver Corp


Mike Devji is Executive Vice President of Orko Silver Corp and also President & CEO of Blackcomb Minerals Inc.

He is an experienced financier of public companies.

Mr Devji led a group of investors who financed a 40% interest in the South Kemess Gold-Copper Deposit in British Columbia, Canada.  That interest was subsequently sold for over $400 Million.

 

Mr Douglas Ward, Vice President of Corporate Development
Revett Minerals
Doug Ward was appointed Vice President of corporate development of Revett Silver in October 2003.  Prior to that, he held several positions at Coeur d’Alene Mines Corporation (from April 2000 to May 2003), including Manager of Corporate Development, Senior Financial Analyst and Assistant Treasurer. 

From November 1996 through February 2000, Mr. Ward was a technical analyst for N.M. Rothschild & Sons Ltd., where he evaluated bank exposure and project financing activities.  He worked as a mining engineer for the Engineering and Economic Evaluation Division of the U.S. Bureau of Mines while attending graduate school, and has also been employed as a mining engineer/engineering assistant at a development-stage gold mine in Ghana and at ASARCO’s Leadville, Colorado unit.
Mr. Ward holds a bachelor of sciences degree in mining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA degree from the University of Denver.


 

Mr Lawrence Page QC, President & Director
Southern Silver Exploration

Lawrence Page QC practiced natural resource law, corporate and securities law for over 45 years. Mr. Page acted as an Officer and Director of many mineral exploration companies including six which have discovered and brought into production the David Bell and Page Williams mines in Ontario, the Snip, Calpine/Eskay Creek and Mascot Gold Mines in British Columbia as well as the discovery of the Penasquito Mine in Mexico.  Through his experience with natural resource companies and, in particular, precious metals development, Mr. Page has established a unique relationship with financiers, geologists and consultants and has been counsel for public Companies which have discovered and developed producing mines in North America.

Mr. Page is the principal of the Manex Resource Group of Vancouver, a private company comprised of an exceptional multi-disciplinary team of professionals, with specific expertise in all the areas of exploration, development and public company administration. He currently serves as a director for six public companies, including Bravo Gold Corp., Duncastle Gold Corp., Fortune River Resource Corp., Quaterra Resources Inc., Southern Silver Exploration Corp. and Valterra Resource Corporaton.
Mr Page obtained his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1964 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1965.

 

Mr Rolf Nef
Tell Gold & Silver Fund


Rolf Nef has accumulated 25 years of experience in the areas of finance and investment through his capacity as fund manager, research and macroeconomics analyst, investment consultant at private banks and at Swiss 'big banks' such as UBS and Credit Suisse, and through his work in the taxation sector.

In addition, Mr. Nef has compiled basic research on long-term credit cycles. The insights from this work have contributed significantly to his management of the 'Tell Gold & Silver Fund' (regulated in
Liechtenstein).  Mr. Nef holds a degree in Economics from the University of Zurich.


 

Mr J. Frank Callaghan, President & CEO
Barkerville Gold Mines


Frank Callaghan has served as President and CEO of Barkerville Gold Mines since 1991. 
As President of BGM, Mr. Callaghan has focused on the Historic Cariboo Gold Camp continuously for 15 years. Under his leadership, the Company has been able to amass its 112,000 hectare land position, delineate two gold deposits, and is credited for the new type of gold mineralization found at the Bonanza Ledge discovery.
Recently, under Mr. Callaghan's management, BGM acquired the QR Mine and Mill, started gold production, and poured its first gold bar Sept 8, 2010. The Company’s target is to produce 50,000oz in the first full year of production. He also serves as President and/or Director of several other public and private resource companies across Canada.

 

Mr John Barry, Exploration Director
Sovereign Mines of Africa

John Barry has degrees in Geology from The State University of New York and The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School  at the Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. 
He has worked for over 20 years on a range of gold and base metal deposits in Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia and has sourced and recognized the early potential of what became multi-million ounce gold projects at Nyanzaga in Tanzania (now African Barrick) and Yanfolila in Mali (now Gold Fields).  He was part of the small team which first successfully identified the depth potential of the E-Zone at the multi-million-ounce Ahafo Project in Ghana (now Newmont).  John is Chief Executive Officer and Director of Rathdowney Resources Ltd which is a private Canadian resources company focused on the exploration and discovery of base-metal deposits in Europe.

Mr Jeremy Jacobs is a versatile corporate presenter and speaker and will be our host for the day at this year's Gold & Silver Investment Summit.


Jeremy Jacobs’ experience reflects his professionalism and flexibility. Successes with BBC local radio and Capital Gold, reports for Sportsmedia and web-TV appearances on Leicester Square Television - a perfect setting in which to hone his interviewing techniques - have prompted constant requests for Jeremy’s skills from the public sector and large corporate clients alike.

 

Mr Dominic Frisby is an active investor in the mining and energy sectors and is the presenter and producer of Commodity Watch Radio.  
Dominic will be moderating the Discussion Panel/Q&A session during the Gold & Silver Investment Summit.  He is one of the UK’s leading voiceover artists and, by day, will be found running from studio to studio in London. He has voiced thousands well-known advertising campaigns, documentaries, sports programmes, as well as the occasional cartoon series.  On television, he currently presents Sky Comedy Close-Up and has numerous other acting credits to his name.
